The Alth'ho's skin is soft, with thick tendon-like line running through it. It has a fine root system that does not extend very far into the ground. In the summer season the grass can reach anywhere from a half ped to a full ped in height, with it's color becoming a golden brown. It is mainly used for grazing purposes and can mainly be found in the Sarvonian north.

Appearance. The Alth'ho
(Kuglim-Seitre: "Animal Plant") is tall and slender, belonging to the grass family. It’s skin is soft, with
thick tendon-like line running through it. It has a fine root system that does
not extend very far into the ground. The colour and size of the Alth'ho
depends upon the season. In spring, when it is just
beginning to grow, it is normally a dark green at its base and lighter towards
its tip. The Alth'ho is thin, and
usually no more than a quarter of a ped in height at this
time. In the summer season it can reach anywhere from a half ped to a full ped
in height, with it's color becoming a golden brown. The
plant then has widened along with its growth, the skin
has toughened some as well. In fall the color of the Alth'ho darkens to varying
shades of dark brown or sometimes even black. It has lost
its girth and has now become more stick-like in appearance, and a strong wind is
capable of ripping it free.
Territory. This grass is found throughout the whole world of Caelereth (Aér'aí'chán), being given different names by different peoples. In Northern Sarvonia it is most commonly found among the Mynian plains and the Heal'hoth grasslands. It can also be found, though more rarely, along the eastern coast.
Usages. The main use of the Alth'ho is for grazing. During the spring and summer the barbarian tribes, the so-called Kuglimz, take their flocks of sheep and their herds of horses and ulgaroths to the endless fields of Alth'ho. In summer the herdsmen cut down large swathes of this grass and keep it for fodder during the bleak winter months. Besides this use, some of the Kuglimz gather it and make craft-like designs with it.
Importance. The Alth'ho is very important to the Kuglimz, especially to the northern tribes, as they are more nomadic and rely on their flocks and herds to sustain them. Many of these tribes set their whole life around the growth of this simple grass, as without it they would have no livelihood. Also this kind of grass is used in an important barbarian ceremony. During the ninth month of the year (Chúh'querín) a large amount is gathered and burned in remembrance of the burning of their ancient capital.
